MICRO-CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

What is a Micro-Climate?

The dictionary definition of a micro-climate is: the climate of a small, specific place within an area as contrasted with the climate of the entire area. Here we create air tight cases that regulate the climate in a specific volume around an artifact.

Micro-climates are necessary in the preservation of priceless irreplaceable artifacts in a more practical way than adjusting the climate in an entire gallery, room or building. These micro-climates keep artifacts in their own individual ideal climates in order to minimize their deterioration.

Museum Climate Controls is a division of Micro Climate Technology Inc., and is dedicated to assist museums, archives and libraries in protecting timeless and priceless artifacts.

Small RH Generators

The MCG 4 Museum Climate Control System – A recirculating system is designed to provide accurate and reliable relative humidity control for a single enclosure. With a capacity of up to 8 m3 or more, depending upon case leakage rates and ambient temperature variations. Sensitive artifacts are constantly surrounded by humidity air generate and controlled by the MCG system. The MCG 4 will maintain constant relative humidity levels in an enclosure even as the ambient temperature in the surrounding gallery changes.

The MCG 8 Museum Climate Control System - A recirculating system is designed to provide accurate and reliable relative humidity control for a single enclosure. With a capacity of up to 16 m3 or more, depending upon case leakage rates and ambient temperature variations. Sensitive artifacts are constantly surrounded by humidity air generate and controlled by the MCG system. The MCG 8 will maintain constant relative humidity levels in an enclosure even as the ambient temperature in the surrounding gallery changes.

Large RH Generators

The MCG 30 is a positive pressure humidity control system designed specifically to provide safe and effective humidity control for museum display or storage enclosures. A single unit can provide an entire gallery of display cases – all supplied from a MCG 30 at 50 meters away. the MCG 30 will maintain constant relative humidity levels even the ambient temperature in the gallery fluctuates (affect by the number of visitors, outside temperature and HVAC ON/OFF cycles), the MCG 30 will maintain constant relative humidity levels inside the display cases. Because of the positive air pressure supply to display cases dust, pollutants are prevented and off gases from artifacts are constantly fused.
